Betty Hatrick Memorial Garden
Betty was an avid gardener and longtime supporter of the restoration of the gardens at Dodona Manor. Originally from Danville, VA, she was a teacher at Loudoun County and Broad Run high schools. She later helped found the preschool at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg. Her husband, Dr. Edgar Hatrick assisted B. Powell Harrison in the initial purchase of Dodona Manor and served on the board for many years. In 2015, he served for a time as president of the George C. Marshall International Center board.
The Betty Hatrick Garden is located along the outside of the house on the south side. It is a bed of border plants and flowers that extends from the front of the house around to the stone court patio on the side of the house. The bed contains vinca, flox, boxwoods, and azaleas.
